Training for La Ruta

Greg and I went riding yesterday on Baldy. It was 34 degrees and they had the snow guns running. I can’t say it was the best ride I’d had all season, but the dirt was frozen and made for good riding. Winter’s definitely on the way here, but I’m still trying to hold out and keep the bikes rolling for a little while longer. I head to Costa Rica on Sunday for La Ruta and I have to admit that it’s a challenge to keep training for that race this late in the season. Next week, I’ll be overheated and gasping for breath in the thick, hot tropical air. I’ll probably be wishing I could role in some fresh, man-made snow. For now, just a few more days to get my Era and myself ready for the last race of the season.

When I get home, it’ll be full on winter and time for some skiing and indoor riding on the trainer.
