The Gold Rusch Continues

What a great summer it has been so far! With the weather finally shaping up, USAC Nationals coming into town this week, and plenty of great racing and rides behind me, I feel like we are right in the middle of summer. I have been racing the Wood River Cup Short Track series on Wednesday nights when I can, to get some short hi-intensity riding in and race with friends. This event has been going on for years and it’s a great way for me to get back to the roots of racing. I really have been putting in a lot of work into events this year on the women’s side of things and the results have been tremendous. Every time I go out and ride I see more and more women on the trails, which is awesome for the cycling community as a whole.

The Ashland Ladies

Gold Rusch Tour stop #2, The Beti Bike Bash in Colorado was a huge success with the Ride Experience Sprinter van, ride clinics with the pros and a women’s only race.

Gold Rusch Tour stop #3, the Ashland Women’s media camp, also went off huge!  We ruled the Avid Chainless Downhill in our dresses and all the media survived the race with a few bruises, but smiles on their faces. Mountain Flyer already has an article up on the event too!

Gold Rusch Tour #4 is in the works right now.  I’m two weeks into the junior girls program in Sun Valley called Wheel Girls. They’re already riding skinnies and doing track stands!  It runs 4 more weeks.  Here are a few photos from our classes.

Between trying to watch the Tour early in the morning, train, and organize events, I have also been hosting friends in town doing research so to speak for the National event this weekend. It’s been forever since an event of this caliber has graced Sun Valley, and with no shortage of trails, its the perfect spot. There has been plenty of trail updates to truly make this race epic. Check out the new Baldy Bench taking shape for the Super D and Pro XC races.

I’ll talk to you soon and get the Ask Reba winners up today. Cheers.
