Q: What is the nuttiest thing you have seen while riding on the trail at night, and was it real or hallucination due to sleep deprivation, dehydration, or a combination? – R. Jensen
A: I saw some really strange and different characters while riding and teaching a SRAM Gold Rusch Tour women’s mtb clinic at Highbridge Park in NYC. They were totally supportive of us riding, but just were not the usual crowd I might see on a mountain bike ride. I’ll leave the description at that.
The weirdest hallucination was seeing an Asian woman selling tropical fruits at a stand in the middle of a glacier in New Zealand. It was many days into an Eco Challenge and I remember veering over and asking my teammates if anyone had any money for some mangos. Sadly, no one had any cash.
