Adventure racing calls for a deep well of skills: paddling, rock climbing, biking, navigating, skiing, and more. Since turning pro in 2001, Rebecca has proven to the world she has what it take to execute any of the above even after going beyond her limits. Rebecca has shown she has other worldly endurance while cranking through the hills in far flung places like Borneo, Kyrgyztan, Tibet, and even Los Angeles.

Rebecca moved to California from the stark plains of Illinois after college to pursue rock. She soon racked up ascents of big walls from Yosemite to Zion. Paddling was next as she rose through local competitive crossing. Adventure Racing was the next challenge. The first race she entered was a qualifier for the Australian Eco_challenge. "We ended up winning the race. The rest is history!"

So what do you do if you win the first major race you've ever entered? Quit your job, move into your Ford Bronco, and set sights on becoming the best. After several years on the road, she landed in Ketchum , Idaho, which is currently her home base. In the nine years since that first adventure race, Rebecca has become the strongest female captain in the sport and garnered an incredible deep resume.

Rebecca has been honored by Sports Illustrated: Adventure Racing Team of the Year 2003, Outside Magazine: Top Twenty Female Athletes of the Year 2003, and Adventure sports Magazine April 2004: "Adventure Racing's Queen of Pain" Most recently, Rebecca was featured in Time Magazine, June 06, 2005 and in Shanti Sosienski's book, Women Who Run, published June 2006.

2006 has been the year of the bike as Rebecca has successfully turned her talents toward endurance solo mountain bike races while continuing to compete in the toughest adventure races of the year. The self-reliance and focus she has learned while continuing to captain world class AR teams serves her well on these grueling long distance races. Rebecca became the 24 Hour Solo Mountain Bike National Champion. Finally, Rebecca's experience in the AR world makes her the perfect consultant for adventure race organizers world-wide. Rebecca has provided course design, logistical support, medical support, and other services for races in the States and abroad.

The 2007 is underway and with a focus once again on Mountain Biking and Adventure racing, it is sure to be an exciting season.
