Ketchum, ID—Jan. 11, 2011— Three-time 24-hr Solo World Mountain Bike Champion and back-to-back Leadville Trail Women’s Champion Rebecca Rusch adds another accolade to her list of endurance sports honors, with the Singletrack.com Mountain Biker of the Year title, presented by the Competitor Group.

In 2010, Rebecca solidified her place at the top of the mountain biking world by taking first place at races such as the Trans Andes and the USAS Masters XC World Championships. Her biggest success this year was her course record-breaking performance at the Lifetime Fitness Leadville Trail 100 race. Beating the women’s Leadville record by 7:47 minutes, Rebecca took first place for the second year in a row among a stacked field of the world’s best mountain bikers.

Rebecca will accept the Mountain Biker of the Year award at the annual Endurance LIVE Awards Gala at 7pm on Saturday, January 22nd at the Hard Rock Hotel in Downtown San Diego. In 2003 Rebecca was awarded Adventure Racer of the Year at the Endurance Live Awards Gala.

“I’m super honored to be receiving this award,” says Rebecca Rusch. “To attend the gala and meet all the incredible athletes is one thing, being recognized among the mountain bike community is something else entirely. I couldn’t be more excited.”

Previously known as the TriExpo, the Endurance LIVE show is the premier endurance event for consumers. In addition to appearances from the top professional endurance athletes, attendees also have the opportunity to get a firsthand look at the latest and greatest products from the top manufacturers of performance gear. Since becoming a pro adventure racer and endurance athlete  in 2001, Rebecca Rusch, residing in Ketchum, ID, has proven to the world she has what it takes to execute any of the above even after going beyond her limits in far flung places like Kyrgyzstan and Tibet. She added 24 Hour Solo Mountain Bike racing to her résumé five years ago and proceeded to dominate the sport.  She is currently the three-time 24 hr Solo World Champion, two-time Life Time Fitness Leadville Trail 100 Champion.
